Common questions
Do I need to sort my cards first?
Only into the two price categories if you can — commons and uncommons in one pile, holos and reverse holos in another. Pull out basic Energy and code cards, since we don’t buy those. Beyond that, don’t waste your time sorting by set or rarity. We handle that.
Do you buy from the United States?
Yes. We buy from sellers across Canada and the US. Shipping is on us either way, and US sellers are paid in USD by PayPal Goods & Services. Cards must be English-language, no Japanese or other non-English print runs.
Who pays for shipping?
We do, at every tier, in Canada and the US. Once we confirm your quote we’ll sort out the carrier and cover the cost. For larger lots we can arrange pallet freight.
How do you count my cards?
Everything is counted on arrival at our sorting facility. Your estimate just gets you a quote — you’re paid on the verified count, so under-estimating never costs you and over-estimating never costs us. We’ll send you the final numbers before payment goes out.
How and when do I get paid?
Shipped lots: same day as the count is finished, by PayPal Goods & Services. Canadian sellers are paid in CAD, US sellers in the USD equivalent at that day’s rate. Goods & Services means the payment is covered by PayPal protection on both ends.
Local pickups: we count with you there and pay on the spot, your choice of cash or e-transfer.
How should I pack bulk for shipping?
Bricked in rows, banded, and packed tight in a sturdy box so nothing shifts. Fill empty space so the box can’t collapse.
I have over 100,000 cards. What now?
Email us at Tentacollectibles@outlook.com with a rough count and your location. Lots that size get custom pricing and we’ll set up a time to pick up or arrange freight.
Do you buy from stores on an ongoing basis?
Yes, and it’s most of what we do. We’re actively looking for shops in the Waterloo, Guelph and GTA region that can supply commons and uncommons in 100,000-card lots. Email us and we’ll set up a standing arrangement with custom pricing.
What if my lot is under 5,000 cards?
Our minimum is 5,000, but send it in anyway. If we’re already picking up in your area we can often make it work.
Where are you based?
Toronto, Ontario. We buy from sellers across Canada and the United States by mail, and meet up in person throughout the GTA and the Waterloo–Guelph corridor.
